Customers requiring shipping Hazardous items via Air Freight should contact us to make
the required arrangements. The cost associated with this will be handled on an individual basis and is not based on the rates mentioned on this site. This is primarily due to the cost associated with the special handling, packaging and paperwork required to handle hazardous material or dangerous goods.

WEIGHT AND PACKAGE INFORMATION

At Islanders Air Services our fees are calculated based on actual weight of the
items rounded up to the nearest pound (lb.). E.g., a 1.3lb package will attract a 2lb rate. There are instances, however, where the volumetric weight of the package greatly exceeds the actual
weight of the package. Volumetric weight is dependent on the dimension of the package as well as the actual weight of the package. In these cases, we can either repackage the item for you at a cost or use our blended rates to try to reduce the cost. Blended rates are where we take the actual weight and add it to the volumetric weight, then divided by two, to get the average weight
between the two. Cargo airlines charges all couriers actual weight or volumetric weight, according to which is higher. Imported cargo that is valued over $2900USD will be bonded for special entry, which we will take care of, then you are required to clear the cargo yourself at the bond or authorize one of our agents to do so.
C.O.D. shipments will be refused. Islanders Air Services is not liable for damage or loss of items while handled by overseas Postal and Courier authorities. Persons may share the service, however, one individual or company will be listed as the Primary account holder and a maximum of two other individuals can be listed as Authorized Contacts. The Primary Account Holder will be responsible for all charges and delivery is made to only one address. Primary account holders can call our customer service to add authorized contacts to their account.

Trinidad & Tobago Customs Clearance Authorization

By agreeing upon these terms and conditions you also confirm that you authorize Islanders Air Services Ltd and subsequently their authorized broker, to handle and clear all goods/cargo/consignments on your behalf imported through Trinidad and Tobago.

Duties and Taxes

Islanders Air Services requires that both commercial and non-trade packages/ shipments be
substantiated with an invoice with accurate value. Even though not providing an invoice will not prevent clearance of the items/ packages, Customs and Excise has the authority to place a value that they see fit, and in some cases, greater than the value of the item. Commercial importers must provide invoices.
